The most commonly committed mistakes are as following: -

1. Crossing the word limit or writing below the expected word limit
It is most common mistake committed in many essays. The students don’t read the instructions concerning the specified word limit before writing essay. The students are supposed to write their response between 200-300 words. You should make sure that your essays should not exceed 300 words and should not be less than 200 words.
2. Writing in appalling writing format with irrelevant introduction and illogical conclusion
Commonly speaking, many students struggle badly with the structure of the essay as it reflects your capability of developing the idea with coherence and cohesion of your thoughts and perception. Therefore, you should always write a crisp beginning about the topic of discussion, so that the structure of the essay becomes engrossing for readers. Subsequently, you should conclude essay well by summarizing all the main idea. You should never end essay with absurd ending or ideas.
3.  Writing irrelevant content about the topic
Sometimes, students fail to understand the gist of the topic and write irrelevant content about the topic. You should first read the question properly and then apply logic about the topic, before writing essay. Do not write randomly.

1. Misconstruction and misinterpretation of the idea of the given passage/ text
You are given only 10 minutes to write summary to write and so many students don’t read the text carefully and write irrelevant summary. It is not the main idea of the text and will not be appreciated by the examiner. Therefore, you should first read the text and then try to understand it properly before writing your response.

It is counted as severe mistake and can cost you all of your score of Summarize Written Text task. There are many occasions where candidates unconsciously put a full stop and then go on to write another sentence. It is absolutely wrong as per the given instruction. You are supposed to put a full stop at the end of the sentence, and then use proper connectors and comma (if necessary) and write only ONE sentence.

3. Erroneous usage of grammar
You should first understand that the Summarize Written Text is all about paraphrasing the core idea of the given text. You are challenged to write the idea of the given text in a single sentence of 5-75 words. Therefore, the proper usage of grammar plays a significant part. You are supposed to write a complex sentence with use of conjunctions and adverbs.
4.  Directly taking the words from the given text without checking the spelling
