To enhance score in Summarize texts, the students should use the following tips and they are: -

1. The students should try to practice writing complex sentences and then use them wisely. It is because writing complex sentences is a tricky job where many students commit mistakes. Do avoid the usage of commas and semi-colons, if you don’t know their correct usage. The students should also work hard on usage of proper punctuation marks and capitalization.

2. The students often forget to summarize the given text in a single sentence. In many cases, they put a full stop and start with a new sentence. According to the given instructions, it is completely incorrect as you have to summarize the passage in one sentence. So, do try to complete your summary in just one sentence with word limits 5 to 75 words.

3. Remember connectors- FANBOYS in summarizing the text effectively in one sentence. FANBOYS stands for F (for), A (and), N (nor), B (but), O (or), Y (yet), S (so).

4. Finally, do learn to summarize points by identifying the main points behind the paragraph, grab key points and mention it in your response. Don’t repeat any word but try to use its synonyms.
